I love to visit Etsy shops and find goodies, so I hope you'll come along with me as I visit four great shops. These shops have great items that can make unique gifts for any occasion - and since Christmas is coming up in 3 months, there's no time to waste.
We're first going to visit Stella Erwins, owned by Julie Jansen who runs her shop from Texas. What fascinates me most about Julie's shop is that she makes and sells beautiful planters, home decor items, and wedding decor items made out of -- vintage glass lamp shades. These things are gorgeously beautiful and would be fabulous gifts for anyone - especially yourself. You owe it to yourself to visit her shop and marvel. PlantsnStuff is located in Maine and run by Joanne, who promises unique vintage items for home decor, and she's right. You can find lots of lovely things here. One current trend is to use marbles in glass as focal pieces on chests, entertainment centers, and similar furniture, and on dining tables too as centerpieces. Especially if there's a lovely doily underneath. You can buy cheap marbles and glass stones at Dollar Tree but why, when you can purchase beautiful vintage marbles such as these, found in one of Joanne's listings. Another great shop you should visit is Felters Cottage, located in Tavistock, England, and run by Linda. She says about her shop "I sell English Staffordshire pottery, transferware and Art Deco china,
tableware, silver flatware, vintage tablecloths, old books, prints
and small antiques." She also does lovely felt work that she sells in her shop. One of my favorite items is this vintage table runner. I am particularly fond of these types of times as my late mother tatted and created lovely doilies. It's a beautiful, lovely piece that will look divine in your house. Finally, we'll head off to North Vancouver, Canada where we'll find June Corst and her wonderful paper art, sold at Threshold Paper Art. If you are searching for wonderful art created with handmade paper, you will find many lovely things in this shop. Her skill and artistry are phenomenal. She will also do custom work. This piece is one that particularly caught my eye, as an artist who works with paper myself. it's just lovely and I think it would make a great wedding present. Regular readers of this blog will remember how much I enjoy visiting other people's Etsy shops, even if I can't afford to buy anything. Today we'll continue our foraging into vintage goodies, and start with the sublime Sophie Lady De Paris, based in France.
Sophie sells a variety of beautiful vintage items ranging from Victorian to Art Deco, and includes fashion accessories for men and women, linens, and home decor. She offers 1 week delivery for U.S. orders, and is well worth a visit. One of my favorite items (and definitely one I cannot afford) is this beautiful 1850s inkwell. Just gorgeous. Next we're paying a visit to a particular favorite of mine, Dusty Digger Lise, where you find tons of paper ephemera. If you're a collage artist like myself, you'll find lots of things that can be used in your artwork. I have my eye on a few things myself but I'm not telling. Next we're on to Sueellen's Flair, a fabulous vintage hat and home decor shop run by Katy in Texas. Her hats are wonderful, as are the vintage decor items she also sells. This French candelabra is particularly fine, and you can view it by clicking on the name below the photo. Timeless styles abound in this shop and you'll love your visit.
Our final shop visit today is to Treasure Picker, run by Dot in Florida. She bills her shop as "history you can touch," and you'll find jewelry, accessories, cast iron goodies, and paper ephemera. There's lots of cool finds here - check out one of them by clicking on the shop name below the photo. These ducks are so cute!

Regular readers of this blog will know that I like to explore Etsy to find cool stuff and share what I've found. And also point you to cool stuff that you can give to yourself or others. After all, Christmas is coming, there's always birthdays, weddings, and other occasions, and sometimes it's hard to find just the right, unique, gift for that special person in your life. Thus, I invite you to check out these four shops, all selling intriguing vintage goods.
One of my favorite vintage and craft shops is BetsStuff, owned by Betsy Durham, which you can find here. Betsy has a wicked sense of humor and one of the reasons I like her, of course, is because she likes my sense of humor. One item from her shop that I particularly like is this vintage 45 single. I've never heard of Peter Pan Records and this was just really interesting to me. You can find it by clicking on the shop name below the image.
Our next stop is Goshenpickers, run by Warren and Bev, found by clicking here. Their shop is a treasure trove of finds that you can't find easily elsewhere. They also have a great sense of humor. One of my favorites is this terrific vintage check-writing machine that would be perfect for a collector of vintage office machines (and yes, they're out there). if you are in the market for fabulous vintage bling, you've got to check out Roxie's SoBejeweled, which you can visit by clicking on this link. She's got 21 pages of wonderful, sparkly items that will surely please someone on your gift list. Check out this pin by clicking on the shop name below the photo. Last, but certainly not least, we're off to GirlPickers, (click on the shop name) run by Tina and Angie. Home of shabby, industrial, and architectural home decor items, they've recently added a number of vintage Christmas ornaments that can grace your tree. One trend that's hot right now is using vintage suitcases in home decor, and this is a great example from GirlPickers. Click on the shop name below the picture to check it out.
